Is Hub free to use? ▼
Yes — Hub is completely free for event-goers. You can browse events, save favourites, and buy tickets without paying any subscription. Businesses can also list one free event per month. Paid packages are available for businesses that want priority placement and more listings.
How does event approval work? ▼
When a business submits an event, it's automatically reviewed by our AI system (Google Gemini). Real events with a clear title, venue, date, and description are approved instantly — usually within 60 seconds. Events with missing details are flagged for human review. Spam or policy-violating content is declined. You can read the full criteria at the Event Approval Criteria page.
My event was declined — what do I do? ▼
Check your business portal's Notifications tab for the reason. You can revise your event and resubmit immediately, or appeal by emailing admin@hawkesbayhub.co.nz. Our event criteria document explains exactly what's required for approval.
Can I get a refund on my ticket? ▼
If an event is cancelled by the organiser, you're entitled to a full refund of the ticket face value. If the event is postponed, you can request a refund within 7 days of the announcement. Change of mind refunds are not standard — however, if you purchased buyer protection at checkout, you can refund up to 1 hour before the event. See our full Refund Policy for details.
What happens if an event is cancelled? ▼
Hub notifies all ticket holders by email as soon as we're informed of a cancellation. Refunds of the ticket face value are processed to your original payment method within 10 business days. If you bought tickets and haven't heard from us, contact admin@hawkesbayhub.co.nz with your order reference.
What areas does Hub cover? ▼
All of Hawke's Bay — Napier, Hastings, Havelock North, Wairoa, Central Hawke's Bay, and surrounding areas. We only list events happening in our region.
How do I list my business or event? ▼
Head to the Business Portal (business.hawkesbayhub.co.nz or tap "Host an Event" in the nav). Register a free business account, verify your email, and start submitting events. Your first event is reviewed and live usually within minutes.
How much does it cost to advertise? ▼
The Starter plan is free — 1 event listing per month with standard placement. The Bay Business plan is $19/month for up to 5 listings with sponsored tags and priority placement. Premium is $49/month for unlimited listings, homepage featuring, and push notifications. See the full pricing on our Advertise page.
When will Hub launch on app stores? ▼
We're working on it! In the meantime, you can install Hub as a web app — tap the Download page for instructions. It works offline and feels like a native app.
